Side Effects of Taking Hoodia Gordonii
What Are The Side Effects of Taking Hoodia?
It’s good to be concerned about any potential Hoodia side effects before you start taking this supplement. Many diet pills and aids make those who use them jittery, nervous, unable to sleep, nauseated, dizzy, and can also cause mood swings, irregular heart beat, and all sorts of other health problems. Obviously none of these are worth losing a few pounds! So before you take anything to help you lose weight or for any other reason, you should be concerned about Hoodia side effects.
Many different scientists and doctors have done independent testing on Hoodia and of course they’ve all been concerned about the potential Hoodia side effects. Any responsible doctor will warn his or her patients about the side effects of any medication they may take, and this includes herbal supplements. Very often diet aids in particular are dangerous to those who take them and sometimes they cause so much harm that they’re not even worth taking in the first place. So what have they found out about the potential Hoodia side effects?
Most who have conducted and participated in test groups for Hoodia have found that there are virtually no Hoodia side effects that have been noticed. Participants have not reported increased heart rate, have not been found to have higher blood pressure, and have not experienced any of the other common problems associated with diet aids. This apparent lack of Hoodia side effects was found to be noteworthy by everyone involved in those studies as many were expecting the same types of side effects as you find with other appetite suppressants. Most participants themselves were very surprised and were ready to deal with the potential health problems that others have experienced with diet aids, but most found they had no side effects worth noting. What was also noteworthy was that Hoodia seemed to also work for so many! The lack of Hoodia side effects would be interesting and worth noting if the supplement did nothing for those who took it, but it seems to be very effective for everyone as an appetite suppressant. Participants in studies reported a great decrease in their appetite, many eating a third or even half less than they normally would. Some also reported a decrease in cravings for certain foods as well.
There is just one note to remember about Hoodia side effects and that is the risk of becoming dehydrated. Hoodia seems to not only decrease one’s appetite but one’s thirst as well, and because of this some may go without drinking enough water while taking this supplement. It’s unlikely that one would actually die from dehydration but not getting enough water every single day can mean damage to one’s tissue and cells in every area of the body. This may not be one of the Hoodia side effects that those taking the supplement are looking out for, so it’s important to drink enough water and other liquids when using this supplement whether you feel thirsty or not.
