How Do You Know if You’re Buying Real Hoodia?
Posted on May 19th, 2009 No commentsBeing concerned about the quality of herbal supplements you purchase is completely justified; because many vitamins, minerals, and herbs fall outside of the jurisdiction of the United States Food and Drug Administration, there is little oversight into their production and sale.
This means that you might think you’re getting real Hoodia when you’re actually purchasing something that is very diluted or that may contain virtually no Hoodia whatsoever. It can be difficult to make a choice as to where you can buy real Hoodia since of course everyone selling supplements and diet aids will say that they only carry the real thing. So how can you make sure you’re buying the real thing and that you’re getting your money’s worth?
One good way of buying real Hoodia is to make sure you’re purchasing from a reputable dealer. This means a vitamin shop or someone that sells more than just Hoodia products. When you see an online retailer or brick and mortar store that carries many different products, this will mean that they have more at stake when it comes to selling real Hoodia as opposed to some “fly by night” operation that will sell what they can and then disappear. If you purchase any and all of your supplements from a more reputable company you may be more likely to get pure or real Hoodia.
It’s also good to read labels and see if they actually claim to be selling real Hoodia made directly from the Hoodia plant. If they don’t claim to be selling pure Hoodia then they may be making up their supplements with other bits and pieces of the plant, many of which are ineffective. This is a common practice for those who sell supplements since their purity levels don’t need to be guaranteed by the FDA. So check the labels and see what they say about their actual levels of Hoodia. You might also look for those that say their product has been tested in a lab for purity of ingredients. None of these things will absolutely guarantee that you’re purchasing real Hoodia but they will be more likely to be pure than those who don’t guarantee these things.
Another way to see if you’ve purchased real Hoodia is to gauge if it’s actually working! If you see no change in your appetite then you may not have gotten real Hoodia no matter where you buy it from. This doesn’t mean that you should start doubling up on your doses because this could be dangerous; there still needs to be some study done on the long-term effects of Hoodia and the effects of larger doses. Taking more Hoodia does not make up for the lack of real Hoodia in your system.
So instead it’s better to choose a reputable dealer that sells a genuine product for all your supplements and use those rather than making up for a poor product with a larger dose or by taking more than you should.
